IMMUNOGLOBULIN M (Ig M), 24 mL
2,300.00 EGP
Description

For in vitro determination of Immunoglobulin M in serum or plasma.
State | Liquid |
Storage temp. | +2 / +8 ºC |
Technique | Immunoturbidimetric method with anti-serum |
PRINCIPLE
The reagent allows quantifying the level of human IgM present in the sample by comparing the turbidimetric response produced with that obtained from the standard curve of known concentrations of human IgM. The reagent is an antiserum anti-human IgM that reacts with the IgM of the serum giving protein aggregates. This aggregation process produces an increase in the Abs. of the
system.
DIAGNOSTIC USE
Immunoglobulin M is the first Ig to appear in response to an antigenic stimulus, such as an infectious agent. In many cases, the antigen specific IgM level subsequently falls and remains low as the IgG response appears. High levels of serum IgM are found in response to chronic infections. IgM defi ciency is associated with immunodefi ciencies acquired or congenital. A single test result could not be used to make a clinical diagnosis. It should integrate clinical and laboratory data.
